This is not the spot for me to share about why we are passionate about our faith; nor why we live in the reality of heaven invading earth. Why we expect the sick to be healed or that we all hear from God because He talks to us – and to our children too.
Take this road trip though some of our history, explore our vision and values, take a detour around our site, explore what we believe and why and I trust you will end in a destination where the person of daddy-God is welcome and cherished... at Real Life Church

Favour and blessings from the Real Life family.
For us sharing testimonies is a lifestyle. Testimonies are not just a "feel good factor", they are evidence that we are invading earth with the power and authority of heaven. It is what every believer should be experiencing
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power. (1 Corinthians 2:4-5)
Real Life Church was officially "born" in March 2008, although "conception" was long before then.
The church is lead by Stewart and Alison Steven. Stew is a Zimbabwean who grew up in South Africa and moved to the United Kingdom in 1995 to be part of a New Covenant Ministries church plant in London. He met Alison there (although they had lived in the same street in Durban) and they were married in 1997, some 14 years ago. Stewart was ordained into full time ministry in 2001 and has served on an eldership team, led apostolic teams both locally and internationally as well as having started a new church in the United Kingdom. They returned to South Africa in 2004 with their 3 children Hannah (10yrs), Alexander (9yrs) & Paige (8yrs).
In 2007 God started stirring a new church plant in Stew's heart. Stew and Ali are passionate about being a "real" church that is relevant to all ages, life stages, cultures and life experiences. Jesus spent much of his time with the sick, the hurting, the young and the old and we think we should do the same! But, we also think church should be really fun because the joy of the Lord is our strength. We have a passion for Jesus and want to spend time in His presence. We are not "seeker-sensitive", but Spirit lead. We are a church of people who believe that we should be invading earth with the victory and authority of heaven. We like to think that we offer a unique flavour to church – like a percolated mocha coffee (great, new and fresh)!
We hope you'll share a cup with us!
We believe that the Bible is the infallible and inspired word of God.
We believe that we were created to have relationship with God, but that when sin entered the world, we were separated from God.
We believe that man's reconciliation to God through the sacrifice of His precious Son Jesus Christ on the cross is complete and that we no longer live by works, law, legalism or religious acts; we live by and in Christ's Grace!
We believe that Jesus is part of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), that He was born of the Virgin Mary, was crucified on the cross for our sins, died and on the third day, rose again.
We believe that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father and that He gave us the Holy Spirit as a guide and helper for us.
We believe that we are saved by grace and grace alone, not by works. God loves each of us no matter where we are or what we have done. The story of our redemption is so well depicted in the story of the prodigal son. The Father is running to embrace the repentant, humble son, something we all need!
We believe that Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through Him.
1. Word Based
(Nothing More : Nothing Less)
We value the Bible as the infallible Word of God. Everything we do, say and are, is uncompromising & unapologetically based on the Bible.
2. Prayer
(Divine Partnership)
We value prayer as it is a divine partnership with God, maintained by a surrendered life, and resulting in a supernatural strength. A lifestyle not a meeting!
3. Living Life!
(Being Supernaturally Natural and Naturally Supernatural)
We believe that when Jesus said that we can do greater things than He did – He meant it!
4. Covenant Community
(Working Out Our Faith Together)
We value community, committed to covenant relationships with each other as God's plan. From the youngest to the oldest, everyone has a place and a plan.
5. Sharing Our Faith @ Every Opportunity
(Infectious Disciples with Irresistible Relevance)
We value those not yet part of God's family by serving and sharing our faith with them at every opportunity; supernatural evangelism.
6. Glorifying Our King
(A Lifestyle of Worship)
We value a lifestyle of worship. Taking our lives, … our ordinary, everyday lives… sleeping, eating, going to work and being with people and placing it before God as an offering.
7. Celebrating God's Abundant Grace
(A Life of Grace and not of Works)
Nothing we have done, nor anything we try and do, can change what Jesus did on the cross for us. Let's not dilute His sacrifice with works - no matter how sincere this may be.
We are a group of friends who love Jesus and want to live our lives with reckless 'abundantment' and outrageous generosity.
We are here for both the non-church goer and devoted followers of Christ.
We are a group of friends – ambassadors for the Kingdom of God, joined together with a common sense of vision, friendship and love. We love to hang out: laughing, loving and being together. We believe that longevity in relationships pays rich dividends.
We love the Word of God and we live it out as best we can.
We love church knowing it is people and not meetings, not buildings nor steeples. We are not intellectual snobs, nor illiterate simpletons.
We aren't afraid to think for ourselves. We recognise faith as the leap in getting to know God, but He has given us intelligence for us to grapple with issues of life
We are bold, risky, fun, conservative, wild but not weird, serious and holy. We are human. We live our lives in balance.
We focus on love, church life and church growth. We love big gatherings; we love small groups. We love Africa, America, New Zealand, Asia, India and Europe – with no current plans for the Arctic Circle.
We have few theologians, but lots of practitioners.
We aren't fundamentalists, but are devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We aren't agitators or activists but we aim to change people's lives – forever.
We pray loud and long, aggressively and believingly.
We don't want to run roughshod over people, we encourage everyone to think maturely for themselves, and we teach them to do so.
We love life, literature, learning, laughter, art, family, young people, a good meal with great friends, Sunninghill (or any town we are in) computers, technology.
We believe in faith, hope and love, a bright, colourful, positive and encouraging church atmosphere – a church that the non-church goer is attracted to. Filled with music, supernatural happenings, vision, purpose, loving people, and great preaching and tons of grace!
We are totally devoted followers of Jesus. We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
